Today our first-born daughter turns 8. Many of you remember her picture on the inaugural issue of K! Magazine (above). Beth and I find ourselves asking the question, “Where have the years gone?” We are so thankful for the blessing that Luci has been in our lives. All children are a gift from God — but we think Luci is a special gift. Here is a prayer from Beth and I for Luci on her birthday.
Dear Lord, Thank You for the gift of life. Thank You for giving us the honor of being mom and dad to Madeline Lucille. Thank You for the way she has changed our lives forever. We ask that Luci will come to know You as her personal Savior, and that she would always love and serve You with her whole heart. We pray that she would grow and develop into the person she was created to be. We ask for grace to raise her in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We also plead for wisdom in the very practical areas of life. We are blessed beyond measure and we again want to say, “Thank You.” In the name of our risen Savior we pray. Amen.
